About the Business

I started practising yoga in 1995. One of my passions, yoga is more than a physical stretch for me. It is 'time out', time for myself, time to reflect and learn. I have practised yoga with many yoga teachers, amongst them, George Phillips, Dawn Mason, Rebecca Burton - each teacher has a different style. Each has and continues to give me special and unique guidance and teaching.

Four years ago, I started my journey with an L1-Foundation Course with Claire Gibson (British Wheel of Yoga). I then started my teacher training with Lisa Soede, that will complete in November 2020.

I am qualified as a teacher to teach to children after training with Christianne Kerr of Calm for Kids - hoping that 2021 will be THE year I can roll out my programme!

My interest to promote yoga to all levels of our community-led me to start training with Lina Newstead and planning to complete the Gentle Years module by end of 2020/early 2021.

I hold an enhanced DBS certificate, a safeguarding children certificate, a certificate to teach yoga to children and teens, and a first-aid certificate.

An ON LINE LIVE 60 minute class.
The practice will start off with gentle and relaxing movements to settle the body and mind to the present moment. Meditation will focus on breathing awareness or an object or activity to quieten the mind and achieve mental focus and clarity. The practice aims to stimulate the 'rest and digest' response and soothe the nervous system. The practice may incorporate mudras, mantra, pranayama and silent seated meditation. 18yrs+

A 60 minute ON LINE LIVE practice, suitable for those who prefer a gentle exercise to improve mobility, balance and flexibility. The practice encourages students to synchronise breath and movement. The sequences will include warming up, intelligent opening and strengthening working progressively and at a gentle pace. Options and modifications are always offered so that the class is suitable for all. 18yrs+

A 75 minute ON LINE LIVE practice, suitable for those who are familiar with the yoga postures. The practice encourages students to synchronise breath and movement. The sequences will include warming up, intelligent opening and strengthening in preparation for deeper and more challenging postures. The practice finishes with pranayama, relaxation or guided meditation or mudras. Options and modifications are always offered so that the class is suitable for all. 18yrs+ Not suitable during pregnancy.

Private tuition, a fantastic alternative to classes. Why not practice in the comfort of your own home under the guidance of a highly qualified teacher. In a private yoga session my sole focus and attention is on you. Private sessions are ALL ABOUT YOU.

A 1-2-1 session is ideal to deepen your practice or suitable when recovering from an injury or simply wanting a quieter and personal yoga practice.

This type of session offers the opportunity to focus on individual requirements and work through a practice designed for the individual and aimed to progressively work towards well being at a more individual level and pace.
1-2-1 are available for 18+ and may be suitable for those who wish to practise yoga when recovering from an injury or suffering from conditions that can be better addressed outside of a group class environment.

If you prefer to have a 1-2-1 yoga session in the comfort of your home, no travel is charged within a 8-mile radius from Carshalton (SM5).
Half hour £15 and 1 hour £25. Block booking for 5 x 1-hr sessions are available @£100.

If you have tried yoga before perhaps in a gym or a leisure centre, you may have thought that it was not for you and may have been overwhelmed to practice in a large overcrowded yoga class or unable to keep up with the pace of the class attended by more flexible or younger people.

Yoga is for everybody and you don’t need to be able to touch your toes to do yoga!

I have made it my priority to promote yoga at all levels and for all ages and created a course that will enable you to learn the basic yoga posture as well as some of the breathing techniques that are so important for managing stress in our daily lives. The sessions are designed as stepping stones for you to explore what you body can do – you might be amazed!

This 4 weeks course will lay the foundations of your practice. You will learn yoga from scratch with a small group of people also new to yoga, in a supportive and interactive environment, under the supervision of a highly trained yoga teacher.

At the end of the 4-week course, you shall have experienced physical and mental benefits out of the course and be confident to join a regular class to continue your yoga journey.
You will need:
a device such a iPad or laptop, internet connection to download and access the class via Zoom
a yoga mat (or blanket or towel), a yoga belt (or stretch band or long scarf), a yoga block (or cushion or A5 thick book)
